Hi everyone,
Welcome to 365 Days of Poetry & Honesty! I hope this past week has been good to you <3
I want to share this song by Greentea Peng. I watched the live performance first and it's absolutely beautiful!
and the lines
“You suffer// I suffer // You suffer // I suffer too”
“You suffer// I suffer // You suffer // I suffer with you”
I love. I think it makes obvious the fact that we’re connected, especially in interpersonal relationships. I affect you. You affect me. This world affects the both us.
Monday
I’m very proud of this poem. With ‘365 Days of Poetry & Honesty’, I’m giving voice to my truth and it's scary, but it's also very powerful. And day-by-day I’m growing into myself, both as Oyinda and as a Poet.

Thursday
This poem has chaotic energy. Even reading it aloud, it's like I have to take on a certain persona. I love it!
Friday
I don't know if I’ve said this before, but when I write poetry, it feels a bit like spell casting. It’s world-making. There's power in language, and for me, within that, it's the closest I’ve felt to freedom. Like not only can I put to paper my reality, I can also write the world I dream about, that I want to see.
Saturday
Trigger Warning: Suicidal Ideation
Sunday
I don't have the words to make explicit the message of this poem, but I hope you understand. And I hope that you are conscious of the world we live in and that things are not okay.
Thank you for reading this week’s newsletter! Let me know which one was your favourite, or if you have any comments/feedback in general :)
With love,
Oyinda
