Hi everyone,
Welcome to 365 Days of Poetry & Honesty <3 I hope this past week has been kind to you! It feels really good to write that I’ve made some collages this week! I figured out a way to do it on Microsoft and I would love to know what you think!
Before we head into Monday’s poem, I want to share a song by Gil Scott-Heron, ‘I think I’ll Call It Morning’. It’s brought me a lot of joy and peace this week and I hope you like it x
Thank you for reading!
Monday
Something freeing about writing this poem.
Tuesday
Sweet love poem! Makes me smile :)
Wednesday
I feel like there's more to the story in this poem and I’m hoping to write more, but I liked it enough by itself to let it be its own.
Thursday
I love this poem. I feel like it's proof of the trajectory of my relationship with poetry, with creativity. I started writing as a way to cope, first with prose and then with poetry. It's difficult for me to express how I feel, especially back then, and poetry gave me a way to communicate. And I was in a bad place, so you make associations, like how the pain fuels the work and I’d find that as I’d start to feel balanced I’d be worrying about what I would write about. I found the answer in nature and I have to thank Mary Oliver for that, her poem ‘Wild Geese’ in particular! I’ll copy it in below. The first stanza also feels like an affirmation. Words are powerful and I think you have to be careful about what you use your mouth to say, especially about yourself.
Friday
‘night-coloured wine’ I took from Pablo Neruda's poem 'Ode To Wine'. I love it because I think he must have put a lot of creative energy into all those descriptions & metaphors :) Also the language is beautiful! I won’t include it because it's very long but I recommend it!
Saturday
There's a lot going in the collage, I hope it works!
Sunday
The art for this poem is by Hideshi Hino
Thank you for reading this week’s newsletter ! <3 Let me know which one was your favourite, or if you have any comments/feedback in general :)
With love,

You might have to zoom in a bit on the words! Will work on that for next week :) Thank you x
Once again ur newsletter brightens my day! I really loved thursdays poem, something I relate too a lot at the moment, such a beautiful feeeling when your art is no longer attached to pain and instead it’s like the universe moving through you. Saturdays was lovely too another one I felt a lot 💕
Love the collages. Thank you for your beautiful words x
