Hi everyone,
Welcome to 365 Days of Poetry & Honesty! I hope the world has been kind to you this week <3
I really enjoyed sharing a song with you in the introduction so I want to make it a tradition :) I’ve chosen ‘AIN’T GON STOP ME’ by reggie, Monte Booker & Kenny Beats. It lifts my spirit & I hope you like it!
Thank you for being readers of my newsletter.
Monday
A sensual poem to start the week. I like that everything is kind of on fire.
Tuesday
I really like this poem. I can't yet to put to prose exactly what I’m saying but it’s the imagery I like.
Wednesday
Reminding myself that healing isn't linear.
Thursday
Friday
I spend a lot of time thinking instead of doing, especially in regards to my degree and my dissertation and I’m trying not to ruminate so much but what I’m doing instead isn't my degree, it's other things, it's this and I’m a lot more content. That being said, I’m also struggling with feelings of guilt because I have to contend with the fact that I’m making the choice to not spend this time on my degree. And because of that, it feels like I’m wasting my time.
Saturday
I wish I could remember the poem but I read the line “splits my bones” and I liked the imagery. And I was thinking about desire, how it makes you feel a bit desperate sometimes.
Sunday
I thought I’d end the newsletter with something sweet, another love poem <3 ! I really like the last stanza, it's why I don't mind being an early riser sometimes. I get to watch the colour of the sky change :)
Thank you for reading this week’s newsletter. I hope you enjoyed the poems and would appreciate your thoughts!
Have a wonderful week :)
With Love,
Oyinda
