Hi everyone,
Welcome to 365 Days of Poetry & Honesty! I hope this week has brought you moments of joy :)
I’ve got nine poems for you this week. I hope they move you and as always, I’d love to hear your thoughts / which poems were your favourites!
Two songs today. I heard the first on Tuesday and decided then I’d include it in the newsletter, and the second, I heard on Friday and felt strongly enough about it to also want to share it <3
Monday
Two poems to start the week!
Tuesday
Love is unequally cruel, I stand by that statement!
Wednesday
With this poem think of a second voice interjecting at “in a well” who also speaks the rest! I like the biblical imagery, and that it feels a little apocalyptic, a little hopeless.
Thursday
About love and desire. I’m proud of this poem!
I love hyacinths. I wasn't having a good day and I had some flowers by my bed and I was kind of spiralling like my mind had taken off with something and then suddenly something smelled really lovely, fragrant, it pulled me out and I didn't think it was the flowers because I bought them for the tulips and tulips don't really smell but the hyacinths, it was heavenly and I was super grateful because of that moment that distraction. I love hyacinths!
Friday
Saturday
Sunday
Some poems I don't have to think too much about, they just kind of pour out of me and all I can do is keep up! This is one of those poems.
Thank you for reading my poetry newsletter. I wish for you a wonderful week!
With Love,
Oyinda
