Hi everyone,
Welcome to 365 Days of Poetry & Honesty! I don't have much to say this week, but I hope you're moved by the poems.
Here are some songs I’ve been listening to this week :)
Monday
Valentine’s Day! What do you think of the last line? Does the imagery make sense?
Tuesday
Wednesday
The drama of a broken heart
Thursday
i eat the moon
Friday
Did actually go into the woods this day, which was silly, and branches were flying all over (nearly had something fall on my head) but I think I was feeling destructive. That being said, I left feeling held and I’m grateful for the world around me, even in disarray
Saturday
I’ve shared this poem on the newsletter before but I found it in a bag I hadn't used in a while and I wanted to share it again!
& something new.
the love i give to you
i can't help it
i love you
& forget
the balance of things
PHOENIX YEMI
Sunday
The first poem is by Richard Siken, and I feel like I say everyone is my favourite poet but Richard Siken, his poetry, the way it makes me feel & how his words take hold, I hope my writing evokes something like that, even a fraction to be honest. I love him! The second poem is by Shara McCallum & reading it, I feel like I am that kind of woman.
Thank you for reading this week’s newsletter <3
With love,
Oyinda
